Warranties

Poynters is very confident about the quality of the goods we sell.

At all times, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act applies.

In addition, Poynters may offer a further warranty in respect of the item you have purchased. These are noted in the "warranty" tab of the relevant product.

Outdoor Furniture Warranty

Poynters warrants to the original purchaser, that our furniture and its components are free of defects in material and workmanship. If you find a defect in material or workmanship, we will, at our option, repair or replace the defective components at no cost to you.

All warranties are not transferable and are limited to the original purchaser with proof of purchase. In no event shall Poynters be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the product.

This warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by:

  • Improper assembly
  • Modifications after purchase
  • Intentional damage, accident, misuse, abuse, or negligence
  • Normal wear and tear which includes weathering and checking
  • Damage that was a direct effect of weather related conditions

Product fading is an inevitable part of outdoor furniture use in New Zealand conditions and therefore we do not make any guarantees in regard to colour-fastness unless specifically mentioned.

The product warranties that apply to each product are detailed on their respective product page. The warranties only apply where the goods are used for domestic use.

Commercial Warranty

Where goods are used for commercial purposes, our warranty is generally limited to 12 months from date of purchase, unless stated otherwise. Warranties will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Goods shipped by Poynters

If you receive goods shipped by Poynters and there are obvious signs of damage then :

 - if the damage is obvious and significant, refuse to accept the delivery

- if the damage looks minor, then make a note on the delivery document as evidence of damage. The damage can then be assessed  and the carrier informed for resolution.

Concealed Damage

We highly recommend that you unpack all packages within 48 hours of delivery of your order. Notify us and the carrier's agent of any damage to the product. Save all cartons and packing materials so that they can be used in the case a return is necessary. Take digital photos of the damage product and packages for claims where applicable.

Shipping costs on a warranty claim

The purchaser assumes responsibility for all shipping costs related to the repair/replacement of goods under warranty. However, on a case by case basis, Poynters may elect to pay some or all shipping costs at their discretion.
